PROJECT
BBC Children in Need is a UK charity that raises funds to support children and young people in need.
The SPOTacular campaign was a nationwide campaign built around the idea of spots of colour, or bouncing balls, travelling across multiple places and people to help bring joy and colour to those in need.
ROLE
I was part of the animation team and was responsible for a series of shots that required 3D integration within the 2D aesthetic.
Using a combination of 3D animation and compositing, I helped bring to life shots featuring the spots exploding, bouncing, and reacting to character interaction.
ANIMATION
One of the key challenges was blending 3D animation seamlessly into the artwork's look and feel. Some scenes required complex interactions and simulations where Cinema 4D, Trapcode Particular, and Newton were used to create multiple dots exploding, colliding with characters, or bouncing across the shots. The same approach was used for other elements throughout the project.
