The Journey From the Forest of the Eels is a short film made at Flow Creative. This passion project started as a creative exercise by the renowned illustrator Guy McKinley, who began drawing spirit animals for each member of the studio's team. As these characters were brought to life, the studio started building a story around them.
PROJECT
Being part of the animation team, I had the chance to rig and animate some of the early character tests. Once the project kicked off, I was given the opportunity to work on scenes where 3D integration was required. Elements such as landscapes, schools of flying fish, trees, and water simulations were created in Cinema 4D, following the aesthetic defined for the film. I also had the chance to animate one of the 2D shots where a crocodile emerges, using simple tools like Joystick ’n Sliders and shape layers.
